Triennale Milano
You can walk in from Parco Sempione without a ticket; the ticket is for four hundred pieces of Italian design on the ground floor.
Triennale Milano is the Palazzo dell'Arte in Parco Sempione, a 1930s building by Giovanni Muzio that you can walk into for free, garden and restaurants included. Its Museo del Design Italiano shows about 400 objects from the 1920s to the 2000s, the temporary exhibitions change through the year, and the museum is one of the YesMilano City Pass's premium activities.

Triennale Milano without a ticket, and with one
Triennale Milano takes its name from the Triennale, the exhibition first held in this building, the Palazzo dell’Arte in Parco Sempione, in 1936. Today the palace is open all day to anyone who wants the garden or the restaurants; the Museo del Design Italiano inside, about 400 objects of Italian design from the 1920s to the 2000s, has its own ticket.

The Museo del Design Italiano: tickets and what’s inside
The Triennale sells the museum ticket itself, at a desk open from 10:30 to 19:00. With the YesMilano City Pass it’s included instead, booked for a day and time in the app.
The museum is on the ground floor, laid out in date order, with five sections that cut across the timeline as installations you can interact with, in a display designed with accessibility in mind. It opened in 2007, giving Italian design a permanent home in the building made for the Triennale.
Exhibitions at the Triennale this winter
Until 11 November there’s no temporary exhibition on, and the design museum is open as usual. On 13 and 14 November there’s a performance, The Lovely Gears, by Chiara Bersani.
Then two exhibitions open. Costantino Nivola, Sculpting the Wind, fills the Galleria on the ground floor from 11 November 2026 to 14 February 2027, and Correspondences, by the Soundwalk Collective and Patti Smith, takes the Cubo on the first floor from 26 November 2026 to 7 March 2027. We don’t have the prices of either yet.
The design museum on the YesMilano passes
The two YesMilano passes treat the design museum as a premium activity, and the Standard gives you only one of those 14; the other Milan passes we sell leave the Triennale out.

Muzio’s Palazzo dell’Arte, by metro to Cadorna
Giovanni Muzio designed the Palazzo dell’Arte, built from 1931 to 1933 with money from the Bernocchi brothers. It hosted the Triennale exhibition 13 times between 1936 and 1996, and again in 2016. Besides the museum it holds a theatre, Voce, a space for music and sound, and Cuore, the library and archives.
The address is Viale Alemagna 6, a five-minute walk through the park from the Sforza Castle. The nearest metro is Cadorna-Triennale, on the M1 and M2 lines, next to Cadorna railway station; bus 85 stops at Triennale, and trams 1, 2 and 4 run nearby. The second entrance, Voce, on Via Camoens, opens only for events.
