Cinque Terre Card
Walk the cliff path to Manarola, catch the train to Corniglia, and the train version of the card covers both.
The Cinque Terre Card is the National Park's own pass for the five villages, for one, two or three days. Both versions cover the paid stretches of the coastal path, the Via dell'Amore among them, and the Park's buses inside the villages, and the train version, Treno MS, adds every regional train between Levanto and La Spezia. Our day trip from La Spezia includes the train card for the day, with a tour leader and a limoncino tasting.
From 2 November to 31 December 2026 the train card has one price every day, €17.30 for an adult, and the Via dell'Amore, the cliff path from Riomaggiore to Manarola, stays open all winter to anyone with a card and a booked time.
Cinque Terre Card: the Trekking card or the train card (Treno MS)
The Park sells the card in two versions, and the paths come with both. The train card, which the Park calls Treno MS, adds unlimited second-class travel on the regional trains between Levanto and La Spezia Migliarina.
The buses on the card run inside each village, linking it with its hamlets, sanctuaries and station, but not one village with the next. For that you walk or take the train.
What each version of the Cinque Terre Card includes
- Trekking card
- The paid paths: the Via dell'Amore, Corniglia to Vernazza and Vernazza to Monterosso; the Park's buses inside the villages; the toilets at the five stations
- Train card (Treno MS)
- All of that, plus unlimited regional trains between Levanto and La Spezia Migliarina, in second class
- Not on either card
- InterCity, InterCity Notte and Frecciabianca trains; the boats; the buses to La Spezia and Portovenere
Both are personal and last until midnight on their last day, whatever time you start: a one-day card covers that calendar day, and a two-day card runs until midnight the next day. Children under 4 travelling with an adult who has a card don’t need one.
Cinque Terre train card prices from November, and in season
From 2 November to 31 December 2026 the train card costs the same every day. The Park hasn’t yet published what it will cost from January to 13 March 2027.
Train card (Treno MS) prices, 2 November to 31 December 2026
- 1 day
- €17.30 adult, €11 child aged 4 to 11, €13.70 over 70, €43.70 family
- 2 days
- €29 adult, €16.70 child, €21.30 over 70, €67.10 family
- 3 days
- €34 adult, €22.30 child, €28.50 over 70, €89.10 family
- Family card
- Two adults and one or more children aged 4 to 11
In season, from 14 March to 1 November, the price follows a calendar of green, yellow and red days, and in 2026 a one-day adult card cost €22, €29.50 or €35.
The Trekking card costs €10 for one day, €17 for two and €23.50 for three, and €15 for a day on the 32 busiest dates of the season, none of them after September. The Park doesn’t list a separate winter price for it, and €10 is where a card with the Via dell’Amore starts in November.
Is the Cinque Terre Card worth it? A day on the paths in November
The sum depends on how much you walk. Take a day built round the paths, with the section between Manarola and Corniglia closed:
A day on the Cinque Terre paths, November 2026
- 1La Spezia to Riomaggiore by train, seven or eight minutes.
- 2The Via dell'Amore to Manarola on foot, about 25 minutes, at the time you booked.
- 3Manarola to Corniglia by train, round the closed section.
- 4Corniglia to Vernazza, an hour and a half on foot from the village (about 380 steps up from the station, or the Park's bus), and on to Monterosso, two hours more.
- 5Monterosso to La Spezia by train at the end of the day.
That’s about four hours of walking and three trains. The train card is €17.30 for the lot. The same day on a €10 Trekking card plus three singles comes to €18.10, if every ride costs what La Spezia to Riomaggiore does (€2.70). The card wins by 80 cents, and you don’t have to buy tickets as you hop on and off.
In season the gap was wider. On a green day in 2026 the train card cost €22, against €25 for a Trekking card and three €5 singles, and a family of two adults and a child paid €56.50 on the family card, against €59 for three separate train cards. If you won’t walk a paid path, it’s another sum: for trains alone, the card pays from the seventh ride.
Check the date before you buy a train card. On 14–15 November, 19–20 December, 9–10 January and 6–7 February there are no trains between Corniglia and La Spezia for 48 hours, which leaves Riomaggiore and Manarola off the railway. The refund rules cover weather warnings and Trenitalia strikes, not engineering works, so pick your day with those weekends in mind.
Where to buy the Cinque Terre Card, online or at the station
The Park and Trenitalia sell the card, along with the outlets they authorise. Online, it’s on Trenitalia’s website and app and in the Park’s online shop and app, and it can stay on your phone. In person, the Park’s info points and the ticket offices and machines in the stations from La Spezia to Levanto sell it, and so do Trenitalia ticket offices further away, among them Pisa Centrale, Milano Centrale, Milan’s Porta Garibaldi and Rogoredo, and Genoa’s Brignole and Principe.
How the Cinque Terre Card works on the day
- 1Buy it online or at a station, on your phone or on paper. On a paper card, write your full name, or it isn't valid.
- 2Book a time for the Via dell'Amore if it's in your plans.
- 3Don't stamp it in the Trenitalia machines: unlike a paper train ticket, the card isn't validated there.
- 4Carry ID with it. The card is personal, and one that isn't in order means a fine of twice the adult one-day price.
The Via dell’Amore comes with both versions, but it needs a booked time on top of the card. The booking site run by the town of Riomaggiore sells the card together with a time slot for the walk, and the cards it sells also get you into the Castle of Riomaggiore. If the walk is in your plans, buy the card there and the time comes with it.
The date can be changed once, up to 24 hours before, but only on a card bought from the Park’s own shop. Otherwise there are no refunds, unless an orange or red weather warning closes the paths, Trenitalia goes on strike, or, on a Trekking card, all three paid paths are shut at once.
The Cinque Terre Card in November 2026: what’s open
The Via dell’Amore is open every day until 28 March 2027, from 9:00 to 18:00 with the last entry at 17:30. You walk it one way, from Riomaggiore to Manarola, in groups of up to 200 every half hour, and you have 30 minutes to get to the end.
Further north, the section from Manarola to Corniglia is closed with no date for reopening, and the two paid sections from Corniglia to Vernazza and from Vernazza to Monterosso are open. Some sites say the paths are free in winter; the Park’s rules make no such exception, so count on needing the card for them.
Weather can shut them too: when an orange or red weather warning is out, the paths close and the Park stops selling the card. The public boats along the coast run until 8 December, on a ticket of their own.
Our Cinque Terre day trip with the card, from La Spezia
Our day trip from La Spezia costs €54 and takes seven hours with a tour leader, in English or Spanish. It includes the train card for the day, Wi-Fi at the stations, the station toilets and a limoncino tasting, and it takes in Riomaggiore, Vernazza and Monterosso.
The tour leader meets you at La Spezia’s cruise terminal and walks you about 20 minutes into the centre, and from there you travel on the train card; a guided walk round the villages and lunch aren’t included. Children aged 4 to 11 pay less, under-4s go free, and you can cancel up to 24 hours before.

Frequently asked questions
Is it worth getting the Cinque Terre card?
Yes, if you'll walk the paid paths and take a few trains. From 2 November to 31 December the one-day train card costs €17.30. A Trekking card at €10 plus three train singles at €2.70 (out to Riomaggiore, round the closed section, home) comes to €18.10, so the train card wins by 80 cents and saves you buying tickets. For trains alone, it pays from the seventh ride at €2.70.
How much is a Cinque Terre train card?
From 2 November to 31 December 2026, €17.30 for one day, €29 for two and €34 for three for an adult, with lower prices for children aged 4 to 11, over-70s and families. Prices from January to 13 March 2027 aren't published yet. In the 2026 season a one-day adult card cost €22, €29.50 or €35, depending on the day.
How do I get a Cinque Terre card?
From the National Park or Trenitalia: at the ticket offices, machines and Park info points in the stations from La Spezia to Levanto, at Trenitalia ticket offices in Pisa Centrale, Milano Centrale and Genoa, or online in the Park's and Trenitalia's apps and websites. Our day trip from La Spezia also includes the train card for the day.
Can I buy a Cinque Terre train card online?
Yes. Trenitalia's website and app sell it, and so do the Park's online shop and app, and you can keep it on your phone without printing it. Bought from the Park's shop, the date can be changed once, up to 24 hours before; otherwise the train card isn't refunded, except for an orange or red weather warning or a Trenitalia strike.
Does the Cinque Terre Card include the ferry?
No. The boats between the villages are paid separately, and the card doesn't cover InterCity or Frecciabianca trains either, or the buses to La Spezia and Portovenere.
Is the Via dell'Amore included in the Cinque Terre Card?
Yes, in both versions, and it's the only way to walk it, since the path has no ticket of its own. You book a time, and until 28 March 2027 it's open every day from 9:00 to 18:00, last entry 17:30, one way from Riomaggiore to Manarola.
